I don't think he means to interchange the names. The AKC name is just the one that goes on the paperwork. It will also usually include the name of the kennel of the *******. His call name, or everyday name, is what he will go by. For example, one of my Ridgeback's AKC names is Serengeti's Texian Boy, but we just call him Sam.

Okay that's cool. Sorry, I didn't know anything about how the AKC works.

I don't have a good answer for that. One's just the "official" name, and the other is the everyday name. if you've ever seen an AKC dog show on TV, you'll see some pretty interesting (weird) registered names, but they just end up calling the dog Spot or some such nonsense.

It was still October last week, that's not a wait! I ordered mine in AUGUST! lol

It most certainly is a wait! The only reason I ordered in October is to get my order in the que and because I was afraid that if I waited until January to order it wouldn't be here until April.

I fully expect those of you who ordered several months ago to get yours first as it should be but just because I didn't order until October doesn't mean I haven't been waiting.. I just haven't been waiting with a deposit down as long. lol

I've actually been waiting since they came out to get one and this is the year I finally can pull the trigger.

Little off topic but I'm assuming Rhodesian vs. Thai Ridgeback judging by his AKC name? If so, are you a ******* or would you mind PM'ing me info on your *******? Looking to buy a Ridgeback in the near future but still deciding on a *******. Would be a pet vs. show dog.

Dude.. I've never owned a Rhodesian Ridgeback but I've had some friends with them and they are hands down one of my top three most favorite dogs.. what great animals! Personalities are awesome!
