I just dropped off my 2018 with 20,612 miles at the dealership to have the cam phasers replaced. I was not having any performance issues or any codes. I was only getting the dreaded rattle on cold start. Wish me luck...

I dropped mine off for cam phasers on a Wednesday (last Wednesday) and picked it up that Friday afternoon. They did a PCM Module Reprogram and the vehicle just feels better overall. SO it shouldn't be a big deal.

For reference data: 2017 Raptor, '17 Build, 55,200 miles.

I saw your post. It sounds like you had a great experience. I will be holding my breath until my baby comes back home.

My dealer had me wait to bring it in until all the parts were there and it claims it should only be a few days. We shall see. I am just hoping there are no spare parts left over when they are done. Have you heard any new noises since you got your back?

That’s how dealers should do it. It seems the stealership you selected has a service department that at least respects customers and doesn’t waste their time. You sound like you’re in good hands here. The new phasers seem to be statistically more reliable as regards to the parking issue that results in the cold soak start up rattle. good luck, but you should be good to go once complete.

Anyone have any insight if the Cam Phases problems, are more common to the Raptors or just as prevalent in the regular F150 Lariat 3.5 Echo Boost engines? I sure enjoy the typical friendly attitude of this forum and have not noticed as much chat on the F150 forum about phases problems. Not suggesting anything, just asking.

Same original part numbers between all 2017+ 3.5 EcoBoost engines, 3.5 HO and Ford GT included. The new part number went into production 07/2018 in F-150.
