Just ordered Stage 1+! I am assuming all of the safety features in the oem tune have been retained in the Cobb tunes? Have had my truck for almost 2 years and finally feel comfortable going with Cobb.

This might be a stupid question but do you need to keep the access port plugged in? Do all the driving modes still work? Anyway to make it so normal stays stock and you only program the sport mode?

The Accessport only needs to stay plugged in during flashing (map changes), when you want to monitor/datalog, or when you want to make any changes in the adjustments section. The OE logic with the driving modes is retained. There isn't a way to have the normal driving mode stock and another setting higher power but you could accomplish something similar through changing the dynamic pedal control setting.

My first post here - I'm about to buy a 2019 Raptor and had a Cobb Accessport for my prior cars.. this is exciting!

Will this work for 2019s too or is it just for 2017/2018s?

Sorry for the confusion! Only the 17-18 model year is currently supported. Model year 19 support will be added soon!

Kyle can you tell us about the mods to the truck other than your tune? Looks like you all changed out wheels tires and bumper-what are they and did you do any other modifications-collars etc? Truck looks really nice. Kyle@cobb

We're testing with a few different trucks in a few different configurations that are always changing. If you're asking specifically about our truck in the video it had the things you mention along with our intake and FMIC. It was running the same Stage 1 Off the Shelf map on the Accessport. The suspension was completely stock. It took a beating over a long, long day and held up fairly well. The shocks eventually began overheating and then eventually all failed. After a day of cooling the shock behavior started working more normally but they could all probably use a rebuild. We haven't jumped it since the video so it's tough to say how far gone they are. We're looking at an aftermarket system now but aren't quite sure what we'll end up going with.

Is your 93 tune safe to tow with or do you need to change to a different tune when towing?

We haven't tested the maps with towing. The excessive load could potentially have unintended results so we recommend using the Stage 0 map (which is a replica of the factory data) if you're going to tow. This is a simple map change through the "Tune" > "Change Map" function that will only take a few minutes.

The maps are built on the same logic the OE uses. We do make several adjustments to allow for more power but not nothing is removed. All of the torque/ignition/knock safety threshold stuff is retained. We actually added more precautions in, like setting KOM to -1 if the truck overheats due to poor conditions or some mechanical issue. Rest assured, the tune doesn't sacrifice any reliability and is thoroughly tested!

Awesome! We're still doing some final testing so although it isn't concrete yet, the FMIC will likely be the next step in the upgrade path. As with other EcoBoost vehicles, the FMIC is a really weak link. You can probably get a custom tune that will make a little power but the upside to adding DPs will likely be very limited on the stock FMIC.

I'm thinking this comment was directed at me, so... I never said it was witchcraft, but it is not cost effective and isn't going to make "more power" until/unless you're upgrading the turbos as well, even for the Cobb products. The tuning is really doing it all. All I want is the AP and the ATR software (continuously updated by the Cobb team). I'll take it from there!

For someone like myself that does not have 93 available and only 91 here is something I have also considered and am wondering...

Would the 87 Cobb OTS stage 1 map make more power and better performance than my stock truck now running on 91?? If so that’s yet another very attractive selling feature.....for me having the ability to safely run 87 would save me at least $14 per tank if filling from empty and if the performance is better than stock on 91 that’s a win win ✊

If saving $14 a fill up is important to you and running 87 octane then I would strongly suggest you stay stock and not tune your Raptor.

Great video at an awesome place! I must say, since I'm planning to keep my truck for as long as we both stay running, I haven't been too interested in a tune, but with the ease-of-use of your Accessport and your killer trailer, you may have roped me in! (I must say, this is one of the very rare examples where advertising worked on me).

Edit: my questions were answered above. Interesting the shocks overheated on you just in a day's run - I was wondering why the truck was bucking so much near the end there. Glad to see it can be disconnected at will - I like running an OBD adapter on runs to feed my video recording software overlay.

It will not make more power on 87 octane than the stock map. It's 87 octane! ;) You would be able to save a little at the pump though. It's effectively de-tuned a little so you are able to run such low octane fuel safely. But personally, I'd be looking forward to using all of the 87 so I could get better fuel and mo' powah back in action!

You made our marketing team's day! We're definitely really proud of that video. It took a lot of time, planning, people, and equipment. Most here agree it's our best one yet. Thanks a lot for the kind words.

As for the shocks... Although it did occur over a day, this was a very long, very hard day. We have a guy on staff that's a legit racecar driver and he was set to "full send" all day. EVERY shot you see took many takes. That massive jump (along with endless, heavy lateral Gs over very fast off-road, uneven terrain) was done several times. It really took a beating. I think if we simply ran the course a few heats as you'd do regularly there, the truck would probably hold up just fine.

Just received my kit. Looking forward to tuning it later. So the drop in filter states to use the exact oil “performance oil” what oils might that be? Is it pre oiled? It doesn’t look it unless the oil is clear. Please advise if I need to oil before drop in, and with what? I have kn oils around
