anyone interested in an extended warranty or maint plan, call Randy. i got my truck thru him, as he said i waited a few months to see how my driving is to make sure i get one that i would use and not over spend. i got a 7 year 70k extended warranty and a 5 year 60k maint plan. i wont say the price i paid just incase, never know what changes are or if things different for vehicles over certain miles.... BUT my friend works at a Ford dealership in the service dept. when i told him what i paid for both combined, he said i got a very very nice deal..... i even opted for 0$ deductble, the difference in price meant that if i get 3 things fixed, ive negated the price difference and everything after that is making money.

as for the mint plan. ive had 1 oil change so far, they didnt rotate my tires even tho i asked, but whatever... on just oil changes alone, youll probably lose money... its when you get into the other things that are covered like brake pads and such.

So......does FORD set the price for PremiumCare 6yr/100,000 and the dealers get as much markup as possible?

Thats how it works here in Canada, they set the price (at cost) to the dealer, then the dealer can charge however much they want for it.

Well, I'm sitting in the Service Department waiting room while they change the oil and asked for a 6 year 100,000 quote. It came in $1100 over what I can get from the web.

All warranties are usually quoted at 200% markup and are negotiable.

Tell them you'll take it for 1/2 the price.

Does the timing of the Warrenty make a difference on price as well. For example, Since I only have $8K on the truck would they offer a better deal then if I had $34K?

I take mine in on Monday and I will see what they quote me as well...

I haev heard it can change the price, but again its probably open to negotiation. As long as its under standard warranty you can add extended.

i wanna say you have 12 months or 12k miles to make that decision and have no affect on price. thats why Randy told me to wait a few months and see what my driving is like, that way im not getting 7 year 100k if im not gonna even get close to the 100k and over pay. im not positive but im pretty sure he told me 12mo./12k miles.
