Wanted to powerboat skid plate, BUT........

I can't believed that ford painted the bumper to look like part of the skid plate. So even if I do powdercoat the skid plate, the bumper part will still be silver. Ugh this sucks as it would definitely be a nice touch to have black skid plate rather than looking like every other Raptor out there.

What if anything have any other forum members done?

It’s a little of time to tape off and cover the bumper. But some light sanding and a few coats of spray bedliner later.

Is the OEM bumper powder coated or painted? I really think it’s powder coated. I wonder how I can get the powder color so I can redo the bumper and skid plate at same time.

Painted mine, long long time ago, its still on there, but beaten to a pulp now.

I had my entire bumper PTM (including the section you mention), powdered the skid plate. Prismatic makes powder that match 99%, if not 100%m, to all Ford colors.
