Hello...

I'm going to the HAVOC In the Hills event. I want to build my own Bed tire rack.

I want to carry one tire and tools but I don't want to pay a mountain of cash to buy one. I'm a certified welder steel fabricator. Does anyone have some prints or drawings of one that I can build myself? I figured I would check and make it a little easier on myself:emotions133:

I figured I would check before I get the Paper and Pencil out.

Regards,

Finished Product?

Ironman where is the finished product? Did you get the Aluminum skid plate made for the jack? If you didn't let me know I can make one for you. I weld steel and aluminum I have some 1/4" aluminum plate laying around.

Perfect fit...wow that is really cool and functional looking...the fact it fits under a cover is a bonus...

I love it.
One of a kind, I replaced one of the pins that attach to the sockets in the bed with a combination pad lock and I also have combination locking cables and lock everything up if I take the cover off.
Very secure.

Thanks

Ironman /NTX

Thanks for the great ideas. Both tire/tool racks look amazing. Give me two to three weeks and I should have something and I do stress SOMETHING to show.

Are you guys going to the HAVOC in the Hills? I will be there I will be great to meet some new people.

Thanks Again..

One nice idea you might incorporate. Build a fluid box. Just a simple 5 sided box that can hold jugs of oil (engine, tranny, gear, etc,), PS fluid, water, coolant, etc. Any liquids you need for a run, all in a box. Just need 5 sides a 2 holes where a bungee strap can secure everything down. Obviously you can over build it if you feel it needs to be extra secure, but most TT's use a simple mount like this, so it should be fine for your truck.
