I recently did the phasers but was still getting a P0011 and P0016 codes and a weird idle. I swapped the cam position sensor, nothing changed. I dug back into and changed the VVT solenoids and now when I turn the truck off, or cycle the key without starting the truck, the intake VVT solenoid clicks to the point you can hear it and feel it if you touch it. It does this for roughly 15-20 seconds and then stops. This is only the intake VVT Solenoid on the passenger side. None of the others do it but it's the same that was giving the codes.

The truck runs great, I am not getting any codes, but what would cause this all the sudden? It didnt do it prior to me putting the new, oe Ford, solenoids in. If I grab the old solenoid, and plug it in and just lay it there, it will now click as well when it never did this before.

I tried letting the truck sit with out the battery hooked up overnight, I cleared the ECU setting with the Cobb but I can figure this out. I havent drive the truck more than a mile or 2 since I put the new solenoids on but I am kind of worried to.

Any ideas?

I just took the truck for a 10 mile drive, its performs great. No more weird idle, no codes, it would appear it's back to normal aside from this weird clicking. I am wondering if it always did this I just never noticed? I do have the cover off that I am sure absorbs a lot of sound. I just cant say I ever heard this and cant assume that it would be normal? Guess Ill just drive it and see if something fails eventually
