****** Galactic 2 and Ford Raptor

I was very sad to learn of the crash this morning of the ****** Galactic Spaceship 2 craft. The aircraft and its crash site are in my stomping grounds. Over the years I watched Spaceship 1 fly, and more recently ****** Galactictic Spaceship 2 and its White knight mother ship.
I have done a lot of off roading around the crash site, which is very close to Cantil. Watching the news, I saw the only Ford Raptor in the Kern County Sheriffs department fleet, it was guarding the location where one of the pilots landed in his parachute.
My thoughts are with the pilots families and all of the team members at ****** Galactic and Advanced Composites.

Earlier today I stopped by the location where pilot Mike Alsbury landed. I was a little disappointed to only find a small American flag marking the spot where he died. I wish I had brought something with me. I'll be going back that way in two weeks, I'll be bringing up something more substantial to mark the location. It's located on Cantil Road in Cantil.
The area is still littered with small bits and pieces of Spaceship Two.

For clarity, I think he died in the air. But marking the spot where he came to earth is entirely appropriate. A brave American pushing the envelope.
