I’m experiencing an engine issue and would appreciate your input:

Hard Acceleration Incident:
After accelerating hard (e.g., passing on the interstate at around 105 MPH) and returning to normal RPMS, my engine started jerking violently and the check engine light flashed on and off as I gave it gas. I pulled over immediately--no check engine light, no odb II codes, driving normally everything then seemed ok.

Reoccurrence:
Today, after hard acceleration (around 75-85 MPH) while reacting to a situation on the road, the engine again shook when I gave it gas. Once I slowed down and stopped at a light, the engine behaved normally.

Additional Note:
Even with moderate acceleration, there’s sometimes a skipping sensation. Initially, I suspected traction issues, but now I’m fearing it could be a potential engine problem.

Any thoughts on what might be causing this?

Another issue that might aid diagnosis: When I cold-start the truck after it’s been sitting for a while, it sounds as if the turbo is draining (like gas being released), and immediately afterward, the engine bogs down, then immediately returns to normal.

Thanks for the response!

So I need new coil packs? Any recommendations on which to purchase?

Ps: it’s also has cobb hardware and tuning

Upon researching the internet, it seems one problem is likely due to a faulty westgate mechanism? Can anyone verify?
