You know you can adjust speed on trail control so it won’t do what you said, right? If you have it set at 1 or 2 mph, it won’t lurch ahead like that. In Raptor Assault they had us set it at 5 mph which was a bit scary at first.

Are they still doing Raptor Assault with all the craziness in the world? I bought my truck about 2 months ago and I haven’t seen anything on it.

Nice vid. In that last shot, you should have kept the driver tires on the rocks, you wouldn't have scraped the rocker.

Exactly what I was thinking, no no, drivers side.

Sometimes you want to use the rock to stop damage, but that just comes with experience.

Great video! Thanks for sharing. I tried some medium rock crawling in Texas Hill Country, the Raptor was too big for the tight spots. However, a great time overall. I prefer the mud pits and high speed rollers.

What?? You can adjust the trail cruise control?? I thought it had to always be at 60! So that’s why I kept catching air...

In all seriousness, I had it sat at 1MPH and it still does it. I also tried higher with no luck. If there’s a large rock or big shelf to go up on, it continues to increase throttle until it can climb. However, that amount of throttle is way too much once on top of the rock or dropping off the backside. Therefore, left door braking was key. They typically use PID controllers which aren’t tuned to respond rapidly enough for a sudden drop.

What wheels are on your Raptor?

They are venomrex with the OE tire size.

Agreed! It’s nice to know the truck can rock crawl but high speed is so much more fun!

Yes it’s stock. Free. You pay shipping which will probably be close to a hundred I’m guessing. It’s big, heavy, needs a big box. I’ll take it to ups store if u want it.

I needed a replacement for my passenger side and so found a new pair on eBay for about 350 bucks. I have my old bent passenger side and new driver side taking up room in my garage.

Let me check and see how bad they are and if I can bend them back. Thanks for offering, I really appreciate it!

You can probably take it off, put it on the ground and put a couple pieces of wood off to the sides and slowly drive over it with your front tire a few times until it's back into reasonable shape. This also works with skid plates.:)
