The antenna mount is went with was a Diamond K400CNMO . I bought it at www.theantennafarm.com. I have been well pleased with it and I have found that the website has some decent pricing.

here is mine the main unit is mounted under the dash just above the glovebox.
How hard was it to drill out the NMO mount? I've been looking at doing this on my truck...it's unquestionably THE BEST mounting method for an antenna on these vehicles. Now that I spend little to no time in parking garages, I have no good excuse for not installing one or more likely two (HF and VHF).
It's actually very easy. The hardest part I had was fishing the antenna cable under the carpet. I agree. Wasn't hard. Check out my build thred on how to fish the wire through. I'll be adding a Lowrance antenna back there soon
