Thanks. Do these lip mounts damage the door? Does it increase rust? Do the screws/bolts screw directly into the sheet metal?

They come with a plate to keep from damaging the paint.

The antenna mount is went with was a Diamond K400CNMO . I bought it at www.theantennafarm.com. I have been well pleased with it and I have found that the website has some decent pricing.

How hard was it to drill out the NMO mount? I've been looking at doing this on my truck...it's unquestionably THE BEST mounting method for an antenna on these vehicles. Now that I spend little to no time in parking garages, I have no good excuse for not installing one or more likely two (HF and VHF).

It's actually very easy. The hardest part I had was fishing the antenna cable under the carpet. I purchased a cover for it that I use whenever I know I won't need my radio.

I agree. Wasn't hard. Check out my build thred on how to fish the wire through. I'll be adding a Lowrance antenna back there soon
