Had a clearbra installed on my truck yesterday. Talk about a SNUG fit trying to get the truck into my garage!!!! It's about 1/4" too tall to fit inside. I'd have to air the tires down to get it in fully lol. So I pulled it in just past the mirrors and taped up blankets to seal it off so the garage could warm up. Worked out pretty well.

I had Reno from Armortec install a clearbra on my fiance's 2011 Mustang GT in November 2010, and 15 months later and 17k miles later, it still looks BRAND NEW, and the paint is still perfect.

For the Raptor I had Reno do the bumper, headlights, fender tips, and hood edge, and mirror caps.

The laser cut Raptor pattern...

Headlights, fender edges, and painted area of bumper all done...

Here you can see the hood piece in progress. On the passenger side by the hood bulge you can see the wrinkle in the flim when it's just laid on. He stretches and works it so it contours to the shape of the truck and turns out PERFECT! I'm good at applying graphics and decals, but man this was even a step too far for me to tackle lol.

Like magic, fitting perfect...

Normally I don't get the hood/fender pieces done, because I hate the edge you can see in certain light at certain angles, but with the large frontal area of the raptor, I decided I'd rather have that edge than rock chips. On the 5.0 we only did the bumper and not the hood or fenders, but the frontal area of the hood & fenders on that car are MUCH smaller than the Raptors hood/fender frontal area. It actually looks not that bad because it ends where the hood vents start, so it follows that line. And honestly, I had to try and snap this shot several times, because if you aren't standing in just the right spot, with just the right lighting, you can't see the line at all. Also once the film cures for a few days, it blends in even further as the water and solution underneath evaporate out.

The hood piece is about 15", so he had to cut around the hood decal or it would make the hood decal shiny. Man he trimmed that thing PERFECT within 1/16" the entire way around the factory hood decal! You want a teeny tiny gap between the two pieces and he nailed it dead on! One word of advice anybody getting one done, ask the installer to mask over the graphic before squeegying over it. There's some light marks on mine. Some rubbed out by hand, and I think others will go away over time and with some vinyl protectant, but just to be extra cautious, wouldn't hurt. You can see some marks in this pic, but I hadn't even wiped the truck or graphic down, there's still dried application solution, etc. in spots and smears that clean up after it's all cured.

The finished product!

Looks good Reptar! I have a kit sitting in the garage waiting to go on. I'm a little nervous about doing it but going to try.

All depends, the prices vary depending on brands, installer, location, etc. I'm also a repeat customer. This was roughly around $400 for the full front end kit. There's also a rocker panel kit that now I'm debating on having him also do which is another couple hundred IIRC.

Ha I'd be nervous too. I watched him for a little while and it's just incredible. It's not just applying a decal without bubbles underneath. There's stretching and forming of the material to the contours of the truck. He spent nearly 5 hours doing it, and he's a professional. Just shows how much effort there is into getting it perfect. I pretty much do all my own work on my vehicles, I've done pinstriping and vinyl graphics plenty of times before, and the clear bra is an entire new ball game. I'd be able to do flat surfaces, but the compound contoured ones where the film needs to be stretched and formed....forget it...I'm calling Reno! LOL!

thanks jackal. i think I'm going to have him come back and do the rockers this spring once it warms up enough, since I can't fit it in the garage far enough for him to do it. With as much crap that gets flung up the sides with the additional track width, I think it'll be worth getting it done.
