Update:fixed!
took my truck In this morning to have the fan module reprogrammed. Walked in and gave the service guy the info of “SSM (Special Service Message) 50167” and he was able to pull up the revenant information for the update.
took about 3 hours for this update and another module update for the rear park assist.
30 mile drove home and so far so good. No fan noise on start up. Stopped twice and shut the truck off and fan was either off or so low I could t hear it.
id consider this a successful fix.
