it just works. don't think anybody's done a dyno run in T/H, yet. it feels like it would hit the speed limiter in a quarter mile.

I really doubt it's gonna hit 100 in 1/4. Maybe high 80's, low 90's

T/H mode will delay the shift so you can achieve max rev, which is what I suggested you to do with the manual mode. The automatic will not shift faster than you since it's all the same gearbox. The point is not how fast you can shift (being that the gearbox is the same no matter what), but how you can control the shifts. I still believe manual mode will be faster as long as you know when to shift. The difference won't be drastic but it'll be better. These guys are just worried about grinding the gears, but that's besides the point.

Idk how the auto will work at wide open throttle. Manual mode will make sure I know what will happen

Yeah 100mph is right around a 13.5, no way is a Raptor hitting that without a power adder.

I'd almost be willing to bet that at WOT, it won't matter if it's in T/H mode or not for how long the shifts are held.

And yes auto or manual-mode the shift time is the same duration since it's still an automatic either way, but the timing is the bigger factor. It's not an instantaneous paddle shifter. There is a delay, especially as you romp on it more, and you're not going to outsmart the truck for a shift pattern in manual mode to go faster than the shift pattern at WOT in automatic mode.

And there's absolutely no worry about grinding gears, are you kidding me? At most the truck will either hit the RPM limiter and cut off, causing you to slow down, or it will shift past the peak power band and cause you to lose time. Racing isn't all about just shifting at max RPM.

Your not going to out shift the truck. These days automatics seem to rule the strip.

Good question, maybe some of the Silver Lake Michigan guys could chime in, they are always sand dragging these reptiles.

My guess:

4x4 high, diff lock on, traction control all the way off (not sport mode), floor it!

I've had great success with ORM on, 4x4 H, E-Locker engaged, TCS disengaged(hold for 8-10 sec)

All correct but let's not overlook the most important factor.......tire pressure. If in the sands of the dunes, I've found that 20psi is a good all around pressure. If in the desert, I'd say around 35psi, give or take depending on how hard packed it is.
