Empty Copenhagen cans, work gloves, couple knives and whatever other trash I can squeeze in there. I keep bug spray and sunscreen in the back door pocket. Dry pair of socks and TP in the center console. You never know.

Wife uses that material on the shelves for glasses , and dishes. It grabs the wooden shelf and items sitting on them.

Probably good for this application as well.
