Upgrading wheels

Good day. I’m presently looking to upgrade the stock 17” beadlock wheels I have on. I have a 2” leveling kit and I want to go with 18’s and 35” tires. I’m presently looking at MO970 18x10 with a -24mm offset. I’m not to familiar with the offset. I would like my wheel to stick out just a little. Would a -24mm stick out too much. Anyone have a similar set up. Photos would be good. Also looking at grabber a/tx 35x12.5r18lt tires

Any minus offset will stick out as zero sits flush with fender flare. Even at zero you run the risk of eating your fenders with the tire so -24 you will lose the ability to actually use the truck how it’s designed. If it’s a mall crawler then you would be fine. That’s 2 1/4 inch difference from stock.

Don't plan on taking your raptor offroad do you? Hope not. For a couple reasons: Stress on the suspension components, rip your fender flares off, your buddys will laugh there ass off at you. Now if you plan on just driving on the street in dry weather, this should work okay. Good luck.

I just never understood the desire to upgrade your truck to a Raptor and then make it look like your old truck. [emoji2371]

Any -20 or -24mm off set is going to put the tire past 2inches for sure. My zero offset, hub centric wheels placed the tire 1 1/4 outside the fender and I didn't want to crackup my fenders so replaced them with a +25 and they work perfect for off the pavement.

Ultimately you can’t determine how much it will stick out if you’re only talking offset. Wheel width is a consideration as well. 8.5, 10.5, etc

You're making some assumptions there....

Perhaps he plans to put on glass to accommodate the wheels and put firmer springs on to accommodate the extra leverage put on the suspension. Oh, and bigger rotors so he needs the 18" wheels at the cost of more sidewall. Wheels sticking out further means they travel more; it is a cheaper way to increase "suspension" travel. Ill advised, but it would work.

Probably not, but I'm ever optimistic.

All valid points, I assumed he wouldn't be going that route though since he has spacers on currently, but lets see if the op responds and clarifies :)
