Does anyone see a problem with upgrading the 800A stereo. I haven't been able to find an installation kit yet, but I'm sure they will come eventually.

My concern is with integrating an aftermarket stereo with the stock reverse camera and the augmented engine sounds and the active noise cancellation.

Whats your budget? If you are looking to upgrade just the radio then you maybe setting yourself up for headaches. If better sound is your want then look at DSP and speaker upgrade. FWIW read Noahs sticky at the top of this thread if you have not already. Depending on your budget will direct your purchase. I wanted to keep the stock look but get the clean and clear sound of a good system. If thats your desire a DSP, amp or amps and speakers are the way to go. What ever your path find a reputable shop to do your work and don't be sold on something you don't want. If you want to have a top of the line expect to be north of four grand. I think JBL makes a nice headend for around two grand that can mirror your smart phone and has real decent sound.

I had JL Audio speakers and subs with amps installed in my charger and they were able to use a JL Audio clean sweep to keep the stock head unit and still get amazing sound. I opted not to do this with the truck because the labor was going to be outrageous and the Sony system sounds fine. Instead I had some JL sub boxes that go under the back seats wired in and that was good enough for me.

Dang $2k for that upgrade wouldn't it be worth just getting the 801a package over the 800a as its $3100?
