for me it's not so much price but how soft the Aluminum is and the 3.5. where I live we get lots of hail and the 15+ F150 bodies get destroyed, plus I've had a few EcoBoosts and had lots of trouble.

BUT I did reserve a Bronco soooo we will see if that 2.7 is any good lol

It is just a hard pill to swallow for me for a non-V8 at that price...the time May come where there aren’t V8’s anymore but they will drag me kicking and screaming into that future ha

No excuse why Ford doesn't hire some AMG engineers to teach them to build a quality biturbo V8. Since current Ford engineer are incapable of the task.

I firmly believe there are enough buyers to warrant a v8 raptor, it's ******** fuel mileage and emissions that is getting in the way. If Ford could drop the v8 in all other cars and just offer it in the raptor and shelby's then they would probably satisfy the government body pushing this agenda.

Yep I'm not buying another ecoboost truck lol.. I'll stick with my tried and true Gen 1. But I did reserve a 4 door Bronco Badlands.. so hopefully the 2.7 is better to me than the 3.5s lol

I think for a bronco it is fine but a raptor not having a V8 just goes against the whole point of it to me. Liter wise the same engine as a Toyota Tacoma is just like blah. I’d probably honestly rather have the new Taco over the new raptor if I was buying right now. And I wouldn’t have to refinance my house to afford it.

And I 100% believe there is more than enough market for a V8 to come back and bad orange man also repealed some of those tight standards that Obombs put in so hopefully they see that and course correct somewhat or you know pretend like this is America and do both engines and let ppl have what they want...cause freedom and stuff

I was thinking of holding out on a Bronco But Being in the Industry I’ve noticed a trend on 1st year models... Always have problems ! I think I’ll wait till the all the bugs are worked out

I think the step away from V8 is just a buisiness ploy, Ford has way to much wrapped up in the ecoboost to eclipse it with any other engine. Dodge and Chevy are still offering V8 in everything, no reason Ford can't.

We also know they can make v8's make great power, the current Shelby's are a case study in it. Ford could certainly make a smaller v8 that makes plenty of power, corporate strategy is driving it... It's a shame that the company what made the V8 great and obtainable is taking it away.

Normally I would do the same on the 1st year model, but since this is built on the Ranger platform with the 2.7 I'm more hopeful that the bugs are worked out.. mostly lol.

Same reason I felt comfortable picking up a 2017 Raptor CPO, they just used the F150 platform they stopped making the Raptor to "focus" production on in 2015-2016....and my 2017 seems solid after 2k miles and a month, but who knows, maybe it'll grenade itself shortly, thanks CPO warranty. I'm just hoping at 51K most problems would've shown their colors, and if not, yay warranty.

I will say though, I do look at the 6.2 Gen 1's so longingly haha... especially in Terrain....something about it....maybe after I'm done with the Gen 2, I'll sell it and buy a sorted nice Gen 1 and something else cheaper with better fuel economy...like a motorcycle :p
