Upgrade Stock LED Low/High Driving lights Also A pillar Lights?

Hey, Wondering if anyone out there has experience with direct replacement upgrades to the stock LED headlights. I live in NW MT and 10 miles out on dirt road so I there’s never too much lighting I could use.

I’m planning on putting in Radiance Scene, Driving and Spots (from outside to inside) in the Fog Light gap. Also plan on the Baja Designs behind the grill S8 (I think it’s a 30”-er). Considering also A-pillar Baja LP4’s. Would love to go LP6’s but I think they’d look kinda big but would love to hear opinions.

I just wanted to see if anyone out there has experience with simple replacement upgrade to the stock LED headlights or if it’s worth it. F150LED’s has some that are out of stock which they seem pretty proud of (they’re spendy buggers) but look like they’d light up the world. They don’t show these on a Raptor but I assume its’ the same replacement.

Any advice would be very welcome!

You can't upgrade the stock headlights on our truck. They are a proprietary LED system. Your best option if you want more headlight lighting is to go with the Morimoto XB LED Headlights: https://www.4x4truckleds.com/morimoto-xb-led-headlights-for-2017-2019-ford-raptor/

As for fogs, I'd actually recommend the Baja Designs lights. You are going with Baja behind the grill and other places, keep them the same. Baja are basically the best you can get, and available in all sorts of options. Check out our CrystaLux Triple Fog Light Kit here. I'\d say go with the XL80s in a Spot pattern or the LP4 in a spot pattern for your pillars. Spots work great up on the pillars and we have mounts available plus we stock XL80 and LP4 as well

The OEM headlights do leave a bit to be desired. As previously mentioned, the OEM headlights are not upgradeable but there are companies like Morimoto that do make a complete replacement headlight. We're actually a big fan of them and run them on a few of our own shop trucks since the light output is very good and they look awesome especially with the sequential turn signals.

I did see a nice bumper mounted 40” Rigid RDS SR that looked pretty sweet but not sure I want to sacrifice any of the camera field of view.

Upgrading the truck by adding some fogs will definitely help you at night. My recommendation would be:

Squadron SAE
Squadron SAE Amber
Squadron Pro Driving/Combo

A lot of light for the money. The option for 3 different kinds based on whatever road conditions are thrown at ya

The best part is you can absolutely do all of this one mod at a time. While we love the 30" S8 behind the grille, keep in mind that if you're ever going to consider performance modifications down the road such as a front mount intercooler, the 30" S8 won't fit with that type of intercooler.

Fog lights are great and we offer a huge selection. The 40" Rigid radius light bar on the front bumper is also a great option. Those pack quite a punch.

And for your needs, definitely would NOT recommend any of the SAE lights. If you're looking for road legal, run around with traffic lights then they're great. But for what you described initially, you need some serious brightness!

I disagree with the statement above. Proper lighting is not about having the brightest lights all the time. It's about a balance. You should always have some SAE rated lights or equivalent lights for regular fog/driving use. The last thing you want is to be "that guy" on the road with some bright fog lights blinding everybody else. That's why the triple fog light kits we offer are great. You can setup 3 styles of fogs and operate them from 3 different switches.

We try and educate customers on the proper lighting for their needs rather then just selling you some expensive kit. In fact, we sometimes talk people out of certain lighting just because we know they don't/won't need it.

SAE lights are great because they are street legal, won't blind others and will give you some extra lighting for use on-road... lighting you'll appreciate and that'll help fill those dark areas while not blind others.

If you need on road lighting, that's another story. But for those dark dirt roads, SAE lighting is not what we would recommend.

Here are LP4s on a customers truck

He had LP6's before that, and this is what it looked like with the LP6

He originally had the LP6 but decided he wanted something a bit smaller, so he went with the LP4. He's using the SDHQ mounts here, but had to remove his antenna. I personally run the XL80 on my demo truck and the Alternative Offroad mounts. This way the antenna does not get in the way PLUS my lights move with the hood (easy installation). So if I ever had to get work done on my window, no need to remove the mounts (I ran the SDHQ on my other truck and had to remove them when I had an issue with my window... both mounts are kickass quality though)
