Ya know I don't remember if the wire was a smaller gauge or not. I'll have to double check. I was think about that earlier too.

being an auto manufacturer, they have to play it on the safe side. with my own testing many years ago, i found that a true 18 gauge wire can carry up tp 20 amps of current. 25 amps will melt the wire. but that would be the maximum, and the length of duration would not be long. i think they use 16ga wire for switches 3 and 4. or is it 18? i dont remember. but change fuses at your own risk. instead use a relay. a standard automotive relay can SAFELY carry up to 30 amps of continuous current. just make sure its fused as well.
