I'm with you, man. I'm running a Cobb Stage 2 w/ TCM. My point is that there is a lot of bad info on this forum regarding tunes and warranty. Your experience proves it.

Actually there isn't a lot of bad info in here on tunes. It's very factual from what I have seen. Nobody ever said that you can never get away with a tune. Do people sneak by with it? Sure they do! Can a tune cause very expensive drive-train failures to not be covered under warranty? Absolutely yes. You are rolling the dice, some times you win, some times it gets shoved up sideways. To use ONE person having good luck with his dealer and getting away with his tune, as an example of how everyone can do it, is a little ridiculous.

How did you get warranty work done when a tune immediately voids your warranty? According to some members here...

I do not recall any members stating a tune immediately voids your warranty. I think you misread or misunderstood what was being said. Nothing voids your warranty, but they can deny a warranty claim if they feel the tune caused the problem. Two totally different things.

As old fart said, there is not a lot of bad information on this forum. If you read carefully what is stated over and over is they can deny a claim if they feel the tune caused the failure. This one case proves only one thing, his dealership did not feel it was necessary to look any further so they covered the problem. This is very common and it happens all the time for minor or well-known problems.

Answering a couple ?’s here.

I have the nGauge - it’s all that was available at the time and don’t know the differences between the two. I put the tune in, disconnect the nGauge and remove it. No gauges present otherwise although you can mount if you want live info. I don’t.

I have the 91prx / 93prx / 91 performance tow and return to stock tunes. Any can be loaded in about 10 minutes. I had to retune because the stock programming on the truck was changed with the PCM update therefore my return to stock would have been inaccurate. Updating all tunes was the right move.

That’s great to hear that you load your tune and disconnect the NGauge. So are you just running the tune on a bone stock truck? No other mods like CAI, IC, turbo piping etc...?

I'm curious. If you already have a tune do you have the ability to save it? Can you switch between stock tune, old new and the new MPT tune?
The nGuage has your tunes you download to it. I have 93 91 and stock loaded on mine. Yes you plug it up and select which tune you want to download which take 5-10 minutes. I keep the 91 on the nGuage in case I travel and where ever I am does not have 93.

I run the tune with no other mods.

I run the same MPT tunes on my 2018 with no other engine upgrades. The 93 with trans tune is freakin awesome! I always remove the Nguage after loading as well. I loaded Return to Stock before taking to the Dealer the one time I had to take it in.

I went from stock to the 93PRX, in hot humid florida. The power delivery is amazing, but I'm not sure how to feel about the transmission. Gettin it in sport manual mode, its awesome that it breaks loose when 2nd and 3rd hits. But for just everyday driving around town, in normal auto mode, the shifting is still kinda harsh/snappy/lumpy. Do you notice a shifting difference between 91 and 93? Its soo hot this month I'm thinking of loading 91prx till the weather breaks, to give the engine a break

Mine is smooth as can be for the most part, regardless of heat. However, if you drive it hard it will start to shift more aggressive. Even with the tune, the trans adapts to your most recent driving style. Mine hits hard on downshifts sometimes but have been told that is normal. Those are just my observations so I suggest you ask MPT. They have always been very responsive to my questions.
