UPDATE; Mildew smell in the cabin after it rains.

My 2018 just within the last month has started having a mildew smell in the cabin after it rains.
There is zero wet carpeting. Just the smell. I cahnged out the cabin air filter, but that didn't help.
I did a search, but all I could find are posts where peoplr had wet carpet in thre cabin.

Any help would be a preciated.

One person as said the cabin vent, the one for when you shut doors to equalize the pressure on his ford F150 had become dislodged and leaking. I can't find that vent. He also said he had wet carpeting. He and I searched my truck today for any wet carpet and the was none. We had rain last night.

Cabin vents are behind the rear seats. Usually the culprit. If you have a sunroof check that too.

Since I’m reluctant to go to the dealer, and because of the virus, I would remove the vents, clean them with bleach and reinstall. I believe that they are installed from the outside of the cab. I read that someone was able to install them from the inside without removing the bed.

Thank you. Yeah, I hear ya. When changing out the cabin air filter I strong armed the actuator arm. Loaded some stuff in the bed and the right tailgate bumper attachment screw broke. Ordered them both from Tasca yesterday so I won't have to go to the dealer.

Check the door plugs too. No issues on my Gen 2, but on my Gen 1 I had this issue. My drain hole on the passenger side was plugged. I unplugged it, and some nasty smelling water drained out. Left the door open and smell went away.

When you check the carpet, are you checking under the carpet? It can be wet under it and not show on top.

The cabin filter (?) is behind the glove compartment. Couple of good YouTube videos out there showing you how to access it
