Unpainted engine bay?

This is crazy i dont think i ever looked (or noticed) if mine was painted how does one even notice this? lol

Thanks for the info it must be the clear coat thing. Who said I was winning? My 2012 looked nothing like this so I was asking if it was a mistake. Both ingot silver. I'm not complaining about Ford or I wouldn't have got the gen 2. Thank you for the people who helped me figure it out and to the others thanx for nothing.

For my engine bay I went with a full ceramic nano coat, then put Xpel on top for extra protection.

This thread reminds me of when people started taking off the hood blankets on 2003/2004 mustang cobras and realized that ford skimped painting the majority of the underside of the hood.

Yeah, that's a thing here. Ask any question to the entire group to see if your situation is unique, and you're immediately accused of whining while sipping a latte, and told to return your truck... usually by someone with a Gen 1.

I'll head right back to the dealer just as soon as my Caramel Macchiato is done. I don't want to spill it.
