So I have a Gen3 on order and currently considering both the RPT1 and the forged Gen2’s in your pic. Pros and cons of each, in your opinion? Do you happen to have a shot or both wheels looking down the side of the truck, showing how they each stick out relative to the fender?
Here's some shots I found scrolling through my phone. The first 4 are the OEM beadlocks and the last 4 with RPT1's.
Pros for the OEM in my opinion: beadlock capable, looks nice, matches with leadfoot nicely, OEM warranty/reliability
Cons for OEM: beadlock beauty ring sticks out and can get gouged easily (ask me how I know), weight (37lbs IIRC), for some reason I could never keep them clean, seemed to hold onto brake dust easily, the spoke pattern is annoying to clean by hand (real nitpick).
Pros for Enkei: WEIGHT, it was the most surprising and second to a tune was the most significant change I made to the truck. Everything about the driving characteristics changed, better braking, turn in, acceleration. More color options for the Enkei's, with no outer lip the wheels are more protected by the tires, uniqueness, complements.
Cons of the Enkei's: cost (can be offset by selling your OEM wheels but they're still more expensive than other popular options), not beadlock capable, camera storage on your phone fills up because you're constantly taking photos.
Hope this helps! Overall, after over a year later I'm still happy and satisfied with the Enkei's. They've handled jumps, rough terrain, and a few oh **** moments with hard impacts. I love the way they transformed the truck and I get more complements on the wheels than any other aspect of the truck. Last point, they're made in Japan, which matters to me and while I'd rather support an American company at least you're not supporting Chinese manufacturing *cough Method cough*.
