Fordloco, that sucks, I don’t understand that much rust on a new truck. We’re they offering a good trade in on your 2018?
61k with 2500 miles on my trade, 4k off 19 msrp. They have one coming for 1k more with carbon fiber I'm going to look at, if not, I'm waiting until summer since my truck is not my daily driver.

Same here, back of my rear axle looks better than front. See photos. It looks like either Ford or the axle supplier put a very thin coat of paint or none at all on the rear axles of our Raptors.

I had the spare tire off and checked the rest of the truck under the bed, frame, and mid section. Everything else looks good but living in the desert I dont expect to see any rust.

I have to bring my Raptor in for the latest recalls and the TSB's. Im going to see if they will spray the rear axle black or undercoat it while its in the shop. If not, I'll do it myself. Jeez, even Toyota paints their rear axles black with enough paint to prevent rust!

Aloha, HT

I would recommend you do it yourself or you could end up with black fox shocks and no telling what else. Just ask the guy on here who had his truck destroyed by dealer undercoating.

It's almost as if Raptors are built on the same line, by the same employees, and painted in the same paint booths as $25k work trucks.

If fit and finish are critical, those people should be buying luxury brands and paying that markup, not buying a truck and then being surprised when it is built like a truck.

Fit and finish should be critical on a truck costing $70k, period

No disrespect intended but at $75k the Raptor is priced as a Luxury Top of the Line Vehicle and should be built with more care and quality than a $25k truck. And yes they probably are all built on the same line. But the rear axle rust could be Torsen Axle Supplier quality issue?

Yep that was me. The quality of work the dealers do is down right malicious. Now I have a ton of work to do myself to unfuck my truck, they won’t stand behind their work.

Fit and finish shouldn’t be specific to a luxury brand.

Sorry to hear that..I had a similar experience with two body shops. Sadly the refund was only enough to replace the trim they damaged, so I'll have to repaint myself later this year. People suck.

Raptors pretty good compared to some of the other Ford products. Those new Mustangs have dogshit quality.
