Are they on the inside edge of the running boards or under the running boards?

Inside edge. I have crappy pic from a week ago when I installed my running board extensions that gives you an idea of what Noah did.

gotcha. now i know what you are wanting to do. they are on the running boards and illuminate almost the entire underside of the truck

Sorry for high jacking the thread but I suck at electrical and I'm installing the same strip lights but using a chinese blue led light push button switch. Apparently the switch is only good for 5A and doesn't seem to power the led strip to full strength which is surprising. Does this mean I need a relay?
