Nice install! I couldn't do that cause my lowrance sits on the dash but I like the cat5 idea might still do that one when I mount the radio in the center console!

Yes. I got all the cat5 cables (3) 2 adapters two wall plates shipped for $15. Got extra in case I screwed up.

Some understanding on gain:

In short, the higher the gain the more radiated power.
The antenna you have listed above will need to be cut and SWR checked with a proper meter. (the one at radio shack will not work)

If you can find this antenna in stock go with it HUSTLER LMB-150 , HUSTLER LMB150 R&L Electronics

If you don't mind spending a little more.. this one also can be folded over COMET SBB-25NMO , COMET SBB25NMO R&L Electronics

If I buy the second antenna and mount it to a light bar, would it be worth it? I assume this antenna needs a large ground plain?
