There's no way around it if corporate sends a tech

All tunes are discoverable, all tunes leave lots of traces

Your local dealer might not notice it, but if you grenade your engine (rare) and corporate sends a tech, he'll find the traces

Credit I afforded you has been rescinded...

Vehicles get warranty work on a daily basis with "traces" of tunes and no corporate tech needed at any ford dealer to find it. The information is under mode9 in the diagnostic menu in ids.. and since ids is live now corporate can read it over the net. And guess what.. There still doing warranty work and there is still ways around it.

Furthermore, if I was to ever have such an issue I'd just send my whole pcm over to crooked Hillary's place (I hear she's not too busy) and let her rub a little of that bleach bit stuff she's got on it and maybe hit it a couple times with her sledgehammer... not even the damn FBI would be able to find that tune.

Spend more time actually reading before you reply, it will serve you better in the long run

That's not true, I had a 13 that was tuned and the short block was replaced under warranty. It had a crack in the piston sleave. Truck had full exhaust, intake, tune, a boost gauge in the cab.. never heard a word about it. They just replaced it.

One of the most common thing they look for is key cycles. How many times has the truck been turned off and on. If you did a kam reset or removed the battery for a period of time, it would reset that number anyways.. just pull your tune, and tell them you replaced the battery. I doubt they will dig much deeper.

think its really going to be on a dealer basis. some will be cool, some will suck. just like everything about dealerships.

Any idea on when the ford tune is coming out? I would have gotten a 5 star tune for sure. Their tunes are good but I just got my truck recently and figure if fords releaseing one I might as well get theirs on this vehicle.

I am having my dealer (Ford Tasca) do this to my 2017. 67HP and 83ftlb torque gain.
