TSB downsides - wiper - tailgate

Something to be aware of if you have the tail gate done you will not be able to open the tailgate with the truck running which is a major inconvenience in certain situations.

I know, first world problem.

You will also have to double tap the soft button on the tailgate to release it and if you have the mod to release from the upfitter switches it won’t work anymore.

I wish I could go back to the way it was originally.

can you open it , start it back up and leave it open if needed? I just think of all the times im off road in the winter and never shut the truck off and have to get under the tonnue cover, so being in and out of the tailgate is important. I'd hate to have it down and not be able to run the truck.

I have a 2020 and haven't heard of a tailgate TSB. Mine works fine. Sounds like a total clusterfúck of a fix.

On a related FordPass note, do notifications disappear once you read them? I recall getting one that I needed to update software. This was a few months ago. I ignored it because I was really busy. Now it's gone. What else have I missed?

Yes, you can restart the truck and leave it open. The truck just has to be shut off when you want to open it.
