Doesn't seem wise to **** off the wife, if both scenario A. (Getting it now) and Scenario B. (Getting it pretty soon) lead to you getting a Raptor either way, but one of them keeps the lady happy while also getting you that toy.
That said.. 300 over invoice? I Wish I got that kind of deal when I got mine... Canadian dealers don't like to give deals. Maybe you need to put some effort into helping her see the value in how much money you would save in getting one at that kind of a steal versus..... waiting for a '13 and paying MSRP... which will likely be a little higher than the current MSRP since they are adding the new lights n whatever else. Do some math, show her the numbers... Women love deals/sales/coupons/bargains & stuff like that.
Completely agree with a test-drive being a wise idea... Nobody but you knows how you'll feel driving it.. I personally drive both a Scab and a Screw.. and dislike driving the Screw.. whereas I love driving the Scab. the length of a screw kills it for me. Honestly, if Raptor only came as a Screw. I wouldn't have one.
I test drove a Raptor exactly how I wanted it before I bought one though. Even though they weren't willing.. I held off until they changed their mind.
I never test-drove my Camaro before I purchased it.. Pre ordered one without ever having seen one.. Great looking car.. But had I test-driven it first.. I may not have bought it. Hated the visibility.
Anyway.. Was happy with the purchase I test-drove first.. Not as much with the one I didn't.
