GEN 2 Truck Order Discussion

I too ordered my truck on Dec 20th. Small-ish Midwest dealership, no other orders ahead of me so from what I can tell, I'm #1 in line for allocation. Was told whole process should take around 10 weeks from order to delivery but I'm not holding my breath. I didn't order any CF or BLs so that should help. Checked status through FP on Friday and I'm still in Unscheduled-Clean status.

I also ordered on Dec. 20- popular day for orders! Supposed to find out next few days if I'm getting filled this month (if order is officially accepted by Ford).

As of 1/10/18 still unscheduled clean and no VIN ��. I'm hoping to get a VIN any day now.

Got VIN on Jan 05, 2018. Truck was built Jan 9, 2018.

Expected by beginning of Feb.

I spent the better part of 20 years in sales management of Ford dealerships in the Midwest. I am no longer in the business but I recently ordered a 2018 Supercrew in Leadfoot, the dealer placed the order Dec 20th. The size of the dealership has something to do with how the allocation is received from Ford. Larger dealers are awarded units based on turn time and overall volume where smaller dealers are usually only awarded 1, maybe 2 specialty units annually. The dealer I placed my order with is a small dealer (planning volume under 100 new units/year) and he told me he received 1 Raptor allocation in both 2014 and 2017 if he wanted them. He ordered both years and sold them to larger metro dealers and made his profit through wholesale networks. This year however he was told he had allocation "only for a retail order" and the retail order had to be placed prior to March 1st, 2018 or he would lose it and it would be awarded to another dealer. If you were to find a dealer with open allocation that has a scheduled build week for the current wholesale period then you would receive a vin and build date quite quickly whereas in the case where I ordered my truck it may take up to 6 weeks to open the allocation slot and get a vin# assigned to my order. Hope that clears a few things up.

Thanks for your insight... I checked with F-P up to today and still order is unscheduled-clean. I called dealer to see what's the issue. Dealer saying that they filled 2 orders and 3rd is waiting for build date info by sometime next week. I am no. 4... The problem is that back in August when I placed the order, I was told that they had 2 allocations and I was the 2nd... so where did the other 2 allocations come from?

So the 18 Raptor I ordered in Texas and drop shipped to Alaska shows on my dealers order screen delivered to the dealer on Monday. Except it’s now Thursday and it’s not there. And Ive personally looked, it’s really not there. Any way to find out where it really is?

if they have an allocation you can see it in their order on line form. It only has allocations for that dealer listed. The lead sales manager is the go to guy to see that on line form, not your sales rep.

I watch my Ford dealer fill it out with my order data and hit the order button, so I knew it was in the Ford Order system on 22 Dec.

No VIN yet, but I did email the sales rep asking for it.

GreyGhost...The only thing I could say there is maybe they had 4 total allocations and only 2 allocations left and u were the 2nd.

I just spoke to FP via chat and my build date has moved up to Jan 29th. I have CF but no beadlocks. I'm assuming around 3 weeks after the build date is when I will see it.
