Lord of the Raptors
So I installed 2/3s of the SDHQ brakelines last night. Fairly cut and dry. But not dry. I ended up soaked in brake fluid. The two from the rear axle to the frame were fairly easy, but messy. The front two were a piece of cake. But I could not get the rear two from the caliper to the hardline on the axle to go. For the life of me, I couldn't get the threads to start. I really think that the thread is wrong. I was able to get the stock ones back on with no issues whatsoever. I have a pretty good touch for getting threads to start, and I couldn't get these. I am calling SDHQ today, I'll keep everyone updated.
A few notes. The clamps that replace the front bracket/clamp has a hole too small for the bolt, so it needs to be drilled out. The clips in the rear that hold all the sensor wires don't transfer over. All of that stuff needs to be fastened with another method. I plan on zip tying them, but I ran out of time last night. I used ATE DOT 4 Race fluid to go back in, its blue, so it makes it easy to see when its at the caliper. I used a Motive Products Power Bleeder to bleed the system. Super easy, you can do it by yourself. I highly suggest it!
**UPDATE** Talked with SDHQ, I guess they have had a bad batch of that particular fitting, and they are trying to sort it out on a case by case basis. They are going to send out replacement lines.
