Yeah I don’t know why that solves the 1st shift of the day issue but it does. So i religiously shift into reverse before i take off everyday. I really don’t want the dealership tearing into my transmission so i’ll just do that and see what happens.

I bought my truck new and noticed it doing that since it had a few thousand miles on it. It now has 15,000 miles on it.

If it’s the 3-4 shift hesitation it’s a characteristic. The last thing you’d want to do is have a transmission disassembled when there is nothing mechanically wrong with it.

Well no luck with any of the mentioned fixes, Truck still has issues with the 5 shift on the first drive of the day. If I really creep on the throttle pulling out onto my main road it's not too noticeable, but it's a 55 zone so it's usually like 40-50% throttle pulling into traffic in which it just drops on its face on that 5 shift. It feels like a shift solenoid is hanging when the trans is cold.

Sounds like you've tried everything but having the dealer dissect. Hope it gets fixed easily enough, Good luck.

Are you sure it’s on the 4-5 shift? A hesitation between 3rd and 4th on the first drive of the day is a normal characteristic, but that’s the first I’ve heard of a hesitation into 5th.

Whenever you clear the adaptive tables via a reprogram or otherwise, the adaptive relearn should be performed. Here the link to the procedure:

I have the 3rd to 4th regularly if I don’t let the truck warm up for a minute first. It’s all of about 200 feet for me before I hit a main road and am shifting to 4th.
