Currently DD is a 2008 Suburban. The Suburban has been reliable and treated us well hauling around my family of 4 and a dog but its almost time to move on. First choice for replacement is the Raptor. Love the look, the aggressiveness, its size and most importantly the fun factor that the Suburban is lacking. I could easily move into another GM (Suburban, Yukon XL or Escalade ESV) or Lincoln Nav but who wants drive something similar for thing for another 10 yrs. Has anyone else traded up from a 3 row SUV to a Raptor? Would love to hear your story and your likes and dislikes as compared to your 3 row SUV. Do you miss the extra seating, the inside cargo, how's the performance, the ride quality, cabin noise, road trip comfort, grocery shopping, etc?

I couldn't replace my 2015 Suburban because I have four kids and an angry wife. But from what you said, get the Raptor. Bear decision I made.

Ride quality is better then my Suburban, fun factor is easily a 10 out of 10. My kids get mad when we take the suburban, no joke! I only miss the towing capacity of the Suburban for some long hauls to Utah with a heavy trailer. Plus I can fit my whole family in the suburban. If I could only get a bench upfront in the Raptor I would say it's a perfect truck

My wife thinks I only have 3 guns

My last 4 DDs were high end Expeditions. Ordered a 2019 Platinum and while waiting took a hard look at the Raptor. I was worried about ride quality for the 18k miles I drive a year. 1000% happy I moved to the Raptor, now it's a fun, unique 18k miles per year. Plenty of room for 4, 2nd row of the Raptor has way more room than the 2nd row of a large SUV. RetraxPro MX bed cover helps with secure, enclosed storage. Will there be a few occasions where the large SUV is more appropriate, sure, but I'm too old to allow 2% of my usage drive the remaining 98%. Good luck...

I went from a Tahoe to my SCAB raptor and it was the best thing I've ever done! I went to go get a new Tahoe and they wanted 80k, so I went to ford. They wanted 87k for a loaded expedition. So I saw the raptor up there. I said eff being the typical family dad and overpaying for a boring vehicle. My three young sons fit fine in the scab. If you have older kids get the SCrew. Screw dosnet fit in my garage and I work in the city so the scab is easier to maneuver. Somehow it fits even better in the garage than my tahoe? I think the cab is narrower even though the track is wider so I can open my doors better. Also more storage in the bed with a tonneu for beach trips etc, bad ass fun daily driver, turbos, paddle shifters, racing shocks, race truck feel on the streets and off road!!! Hold value better too. Do it. My wife is coming around and wanted to drive it with her girlfriends night out even.

I came from a lifted Limited 4Runner with the third row and do not miss it at all. Now granted that was a smaller suv than yours, but I have not missed the interior cargo space once. The backseat has way more leg room and when the seats are folded up I have more cargo space than the 4Runner did. Get a retractable bed cover and it’s like having a giant trunk. Oh yeah and the fun factor doesn’t even compare.

I once had the Lexus LX470 for 8 years, so I can relate.

As others said, the truck bed with tonneau cover is way more functional than the SUV cargo space that's eaten up by the 3rd row. I also have a cargo net in the Raptor bed to help with small items and groceries.

As they say: "Once you go truck, you don't go back..."
