Trade 2018 for 2019?

Guys, per the dealership order guide 2020 is the same as 2019. Personally I wouldn't jump from an '18 to '19 given the cost and minimal changes. I love my 2019 with the Recaro seats, but I don't think the price hit would be worth it if I had an '18. In regards to the 2021 model, it's rumored that the next generation F-150 will debut. Typically, that means no Raptor for at least 2-3 years, just like when the new 2015 model came out.

Just as the title reads; I currently have a 2018 with every option and 12,000 miles on her and looking to upgrade to a 2019 that is priced 5k under sticker (which I paid sticker for the 2018). The 2019 has a few less stickers but is loaded up otherwise; my question is has anyone jumped up to a 2019 from a 2017 or '18 and wished they hadn't? I am getting what I feel is a fair trade in for my 2018 ($62K) especially when the truck I am buying is priced at $69k.

Other concern is should I wait an order a 2020? Decisions decisions...

With regards to the new live valve shock technology; those that had owned both types of suspension longer than a test drive; are you happy with the new setup? I personally like the fact that the 2019s sit visually higher in the front (leveled) compared to the rake that exists in my 2018 (which I know can be leveled, but I'd rather it be factory and left well alone)

I don't know if this counts for 'more than a test drive' but I put together a video showing the differences I noted at the track. TL;DW: The shocks make a noticeable improvement going over the small stuff (on and offroad) but aren't substantial enough of an upgrade to justify the switch, IMO. And I was tempted. The Recaros are pretty nice and hold you in better, but the 'regular' 802 leather seats aren't nearly as nice as the 17-18s.

I have a friend that races off-road trucks and they "caught" FORD out testing. Look at "Ridgecrest, Ca" on google maps and you'll see why. New rear suspension is being tested. When will it cut in? 2021 is the guess. I'll keep driving my '17 until there is a major refresh - like rear suspension. Just the "sales tax" on a new one would buy lots of lights other toys for my truck! I'm at 28K and STILL LOVING my Truck!

Yea, Maybe when the new 2023 or 2024 Raptor debuts there will be a V8 option

I would feel like i'm just burning money if I kept my truck for just 1 year and purchased a nearly identical truck. When I do get around to replacing my 2018 I want to feel like my new truck is better at 90% of everything and similar in 10% not the other way around. This means no new Raptor for me until next gen, and not as soon as they drop either. Seems that the 3rd model year is when they introduce some upgrades. So my suggestion is wait until next gen and don't buy the first two model years or you'll be in here asking the same question again.

2017 to 19 here. Was worth it for me for the deal I got. Recaro interior makes it feel like an new truck and the new shocks are great.

I wouldn’t listen to the wait and see people. You may be waiting forever vs just enjoying the car. The rumor mill on this website is absurd most of the time

yes but telling the gentleman that it WILL come to the raptor in 2021 is virtually the same as telling him the v8 will come as well.
We don’t even know if there will be a 2021 so telling him to wait for a refresh that could be potentially 2 or three years down the line is insanity
