I see you’ve edited you’re post a few times. Didn’t mean to trigger you, it wasn’t a personal attack. I was referring to the buying public in general.

All vehicles require maintenance and repairs regardless of brand. Toyota builds a reputation and massive profits through extended product lifecycles. That means you’re paying a competitive price for a brand new outdated and uncompetitive vehicle.

Your claims on a 2006 Taco are anecdotal at best; they don’t represent the entire population. You keep repeating “extreme reliability” as if it’s a quantifiable value; the ‘22 models have not even been out long enough to determine how “reliable” they may or not be long term.

Honestly FTO, the editing was for spelling, and punctuation, though probably still missed a few details.
You didn’t “trigger” me, I have much thicker skin than that. Instead I believe you may have been “triggered”, which led to your expert analysis of Toyota products, and Toyota owners.

As stated above, I was just throwing out my experience(s) with the brand, and shouldn’t have been so loose with the terms “reliabile, extremely reliable, solid value” etc. Clearly nothing more than conjecture, and “anecdotal” on my part.

I truly couldn’t care less what you think about Toyota, or their customers. You dislike the brand, that’s well established, that’s fine, it’s okay, relax. Too much time has been wasted on this, I’m ready to move on with a beautiful day, you do the same.

You seem to care quite a lot, or you wouldn’t be responding. It’s not about a brand perception, it’s about reality and not spreading a false perception. It’s been a great day, and I hope you had one as well. Congrats on the G3 Raptor. I think we as as a group of automotive enthusiasts probably have more in common than not.

Just joined after ordering a 2023 Raptor. I've been driving Toyota TRD's for the past 25 years. Wanted a new Tacoma TRD Pro but found out the only come in V6 Hybrid. Overlooking the fact they are butt ugly. Dealer says 6 months to a year for the Raptor. I'll have to drive my 2020 Tacoma TRD Off Road until then. This forum should give me some great information on my Raptor while I wait. So, hello from Idaho.

Yes, lot’s of censorship here. I should not have put my fingers on the keyboard to begin with, I knew this would happen, but when someone responds to a post of mine, I’m compelled to do the same.

It’s very simple, I’ve had two Toyota’s, one as already mentioned for 16 years, the other for three months. I had a positive owner experience with the first, and as well with the second…for the short time I owned it. That’s it, I’ll leave it there…as I TRULY do not care.

Thanks, I do like my G3, even more so after attending Raptor Assault. I had an excellent day, hope you did as well.

600lbs of engine is more than any Japanese “pickup” can support, the frame would buckle under the weight.

I drove a 2006 Tacoma TRD Off Road for 16 trouble free years, excellent, reliable pickup.

itsarap, I guess you need to count me in as one of the brainwashed Tacoma owners. My 2007 Tacoma TRD Off Road has been pretty flawless for 15 years, 12 of that supercharged. It's the most reliable vehicle I've owned (I've had about 40 different vehicles in my driving life), and the one I've kept the longest. I guess we both just got lucky with our specific one off trucks.
