I need advice on best aftermarket options for my Gen 3 Raptor and towing a little overloading trailer. I want to eliminate the sag without disrupting the intended use of having a raptor. The trailer is only about 3500 lbs loaded with a tongue weight around 350lbs. With any gear in the bed though I am getting close to the limits of payload capacity. (Being such a small trailer a lot of additional gear has to go in the bed of the truck)
I have done lots of research on springs including the Geiser Springs, Eibach HD's, the new Icon Triple Rate Overlanding Springs, and the new Airlift 5000 Airbags. The springs all have mixed reviews minus the Icon's which have no info. The Geiser progressive springs claim 10% stiffer and only 1" drop with 700lbs in the bed. The Icons are triple rate springs with an overlanding option for an additional 300lbs of gear retaining the 1" lift in the rear.
The Airlift bags are interesting because they are disconnected from the axle and sit in a cradle at rest so they don't limit travel. My fear is they could potentially diminish the ride when the shock is under compression because of the minimum 5lbs of pressure needed to run the system.
I towed the camper all last season and it was fine but not ideal when the bed was loaded with gear. It squats substantially when loaded. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The truck was a 35 package, but currently has FMI 2" front collar and .75" rear spacers with 37x12.50's. If I do springs I will pull the FMI's and run new front and rear springs for lift instead.
