GEN 2 Towing 6-7000 LBS

It's not only the total trailer weight that you have to worry about. 6-7K pounds is doable (especially with a WDH), but if the tongue weight is 2K pounds, it's going to be a problem! Definitely important to get those specs!

I run the airbag ride control setup from Airlift made for F150 (says it won’t fit raptor but does just fine) and it works great for normal gear in the back or light towing. 5-10psi without a load and 50-60psi loaded. But with my 8,000lbs 36’ travel trailer I run a weight distributing hitch. I think they are a must for over 6,000lbs. Towing without it you will be all over the place with sway. I have towed with WDH from Virginia to Texas and then on to Cali running 70-75mph the whole way.

I tow my 28 ft. Magic deckboat. My boat loaded with everything and the trailer its about 7k lbs. My understanding is I can not add a weight distribution hitch to boat trailers. I have a weight save hitch with the gauge showing tongue weight. My truck tows, launches, and retrieves the boat without issue!! What I hate is the sag. My boat trailer doesn't have an electric jack so it takes forever. Plus the sag looks silly. I would love airbags or something like that but I don't want to have any negative effects with the suspension. I off road but I don't jump it, rock crawl, or really hit the desert hard..... Looking for options also....

Nope it went on just like the regular F150. There is one edge of the bracket I thought I might have to clearance but I didn’t. The bag is long and skinny so you still get lots of travel. I have never maxed out the travel extension of the bag. Mounted the air compressor above the spare tire mount.

I did a lot of research before building my own airbag kit on my 2019 and never came across this solution, if it is truly a bolt-on then I wish I had.

Is that on a 2017-18 or a 2019? The available space in the rear leaf spring area is significantly less on 2019- and the frame is much thicker vs the regular F-150 which could pose an issue there. I did a lot of research before building my own airbag kit on my 2019 and never came across this solution, if it is truly a bolt-on then I wish I had.

Mine was a 2017 SCREW. It still had a ton of room available but I can’t speak to the 2019 models... Sorry these are the only pics I have left of mine installed.

Cool. Definitely would not fit on 2019-. The clearance is way tighter than those photos and the frame much thicker and closer to the bed.

Good to know man thanks. Makes sense as the suspension and other changes made for 19’s.
