If you are looking to keep it mostly stock but get some benefits from the parts you are going to put on then be it on or off road then:

Exhaust.
tune
higher flow intake mod.

These 3 mods will allow the engine to work better and you might get better MPG but definitely better performance. Any engine needs more air in and faster getting out.

Mid-perch to make truck ride, steer and look better.
bed protection; ie spray on bed liner or insert.

These five are what I consider best bang for your buck if you have to do 5.

Disclaimer: WARNING: when adding modifications to a new Raptor, beware that bank account can be depleted quickly. This can cause irreparable damage to ones body as significant other tries to use debit card at grocery store and it is rejected.

For those people looking for just an all around great off-road truck, without spending another $20K on mods... This is what I've always recommended to people:

- Mid Perch (next to free!)
- Bump Kit
- Front Bumper (improved approach angles are a must!)
- GPS/Radio (half the fun of these trucks is the group runs!)
- Bed Rack (what good is any of this crap, if you can't secure your off road gear?)

All of the items above would be package together probably around $5000 from a shop like Outlaw or SDHQ, who have all of that stuff off the shelf (as oppose to custom fab).

With that package, you can literally do anything that anybody else can, properly... just not as fast in some areas (whoops, G-outs, etc). Those people thinking they need aftermarket shocks to perform well off road are either mis-informed, or just bad drivers who prefer to try and plow through everythign instead of properly analyzing the terrain. Sure, experienced drivers will truly appreciate upgraded shocks and use them to their potential, but it takes time to get comfortable in this truck and really be able to drive it to its potential! It's all about knowing the trucks limits, having a good understanding about what sort of G-outs and whoop sections you can safely run before you get in over your head!

Mid-Perch
Good VHF Radio
Lights
Lights
more Lights

At first I didn't understand why everyone spent so much money on lights... Until my first event with a night run. Now even in a daily driver environment I couldn't see going back, and don't know how I put up with it in the past. Getting a set of HID projectors or atleast drop in's are a great investment, as well as good O/R lights. The radio was another item i said, "Im only going to use this once a year..." That was clearly not the case, but even if that's true, the fun of the group on the radio during a run or commute to the event is priceless. On top of that its a great safety tool and big help being informed of the trail happenings.

Depends on what you're going for

Will your raptor be a street queen you bought to make you feel better about your babydick or receding hair line, then a supercharger and relevant supporting mods

If you are going to use it off road, Raptizzle's suggestion is solid

Same here

Here is an easy to do list.

mid perch

cold air intake and tune

new exhaust (I did a corsa cat back then went with headers later)

Window tint

Aftermarket Rims. (Methods very popular here)

Personally those mods should give you a nice perf boost and give your truck a better look without breaking the bank.

I did the same and very happy with them all
