Screw driver, pliers, wrench and duct tape. That’s all I carry….
Maily because that’s all I know how to use and then, not very well ;)
you forgot rubber bands. you know how to use them very well. and it can be used to temporarily hold a hose in place while you limp back into town. however your hair might suffer.

and the words "strap" and "on" cant be used sequencially

I haven't had to use mine yet, but I know at some point they will come in very handy!
They are my most used self-recovery/rescue item. Them and my ropes will get just about anyone out. I went to the Super/Come-along instead of a winch this time on my Gen-2.
Get the real MAXTRAX not any cheap imitations and you can use them to bridge gaps and change break over angles.

No winch here due to tube bumpers, but I do have a come-along, tree strap, 100 feet of the synthetic winch rope, snatch block, and a 4" 30 ft recovery strap with D-rings. I'd assume along with the traction boards that's probably a pretty good setup.

Is the rope a newer thing? I have a 4" kinetic strap, and as far as I know that was kind of the go-to for a while. Never seen soft shackles either. Interesting.
The KE Rope is my go-to when folks are stuck in deep, snow, mud, sand.
People get hurt and things get broken when someone tries to use a tow strap as a KE Rope.
The soft shackles became real popular a few years ago. They are very versatile, lightweight and much less chance of killing somebody in the event of failure.

I use a Plano box that fits perfectly into my rpg chase rack.. tools are in canvas bags along with Bubba rope, soft shackles and other trailside repair things.. also, big wheel pro eagle jack mounted under thereView attachment 374695

If I ever get to the point that I don't use the full truck bed anymore I definitely will invest in a chase rack to hold bed things. I just don't like the idea of having to unload it and unbolt the chase rack if I want to pick up plywood. lol

The one I have is most definitely a recovery strap, not a tow strap. I could see a lot of issues with trying to use a tow strap to yank someone out compared to a kinetic strap. I guess maybe it's time to look into the rope and soft shackles.
