I wonder if you matched up the ICON LCA skids with the skinny TMX if that would provide adequate LCA mount protection.

That's a good question, we'll take a look at the Icon LCA skid plate and see if it makes a nice package.

Following up on Turf Tamer's pics, here is a pic of my stock skid at the LCA mount.

I don't really drive my truck that hard. 95% of miles are on I-10 or Houston city streets. But that skid was painted black at one point. It is getting worked, at least a little.

In all honesty, the lower mounts for the front skid aren't impressive. I think it just bolts to the next skid towards the center of the truck. So the outer lower edges of the front skid are not braced at all that I can tell. Just a lip that lays over the cross member and LCA mounts. How much does this really help? I don't know. Turf'***** was so hard that the LCA mount cut through the skid before the mount bent. Did the skid absorb some of the blow? Maybe, but its not braced at that point so I don't see that skid offering meaningful resistance to a 3 ton truck driving at a decent speed down a rut filled road. So maybe it doesn't matter. Maybe the dirt, rocks, etc. that have scraped up my skid would not have been big enough to damage my LCA mounts. And maybe Turf's experience was just bad luck.

I hate my approach angle and would gladly saw off my horns, but this issue has given me pause.
