So whats the deal with the icon rears with built in bump stops. Do we still need a frame kit to avoid bending?

Whtrapta the built in bump stop deal you are talking about is a front coilover feature. What we feel about the rear 3.0 bypass shock we build is that it has the ability to eat up so much of the energy and control the rear end enough to prevent harsh slamming of the factory bumpstop. Smashing the rear end up against the factory bump stops is what hurts the frame. We do have a small support plate on ours to help support the frame from bending as easily in this area, and with how many have had the issue it def is a good idea to do something. ICON is in the process of building our own tuned bump stop and frame support system that will work hand in hand with the ICON 3.0 Bypass shocks. (we plan on having one tuned for the factory shocks as well) Also we will be testing with the factory springs and a set of Deaver's new design +1 springs. We will have an option for every need soon.

They say that they have beat the hell out of their own truck in the desert with stock leafs and have not experienced any issues so far.

I will say that some of the "Lack of Issue" is probably because the person driving our Raptor most of the time offroad has quite a bit of driving experience. He is good at avoiding the "oh s%&!'s" and "Oops" situations!!
