I have a 2013 on order and during my test drive of a 2012 Raptor I noticed the BFG's throw a lot of small rocks up after driving on gravel...unfortunately I live on a gravel road.

In an effort to keep paint chips to a minimum on the back fenders from rocks off the front tires, I am considering trading out the new BFG's when I get the truck with tires that will throw less rocks.

I love the looks, noise level, tread life and wet performance of the BFG's but dont like the rocks, I have had good luck with Nitto Terra Grapplers in the past so am considering them again. I see a lot of talk here of Goodyear DuraTracs and like the way they look.

I want a tire that makes about the same amount of noise as the BFG's, I drive about 80% on road, 15% gravel and rest off road/mud...no sand.

Mainly wondering how the noise is on the DuraTracs compared to the BFG's?

Any other recommendations?

Thanks

The vortex size c mudflaps look like they were made for the raptor and have all but eliminated rocks and mud getting thrown up at my doors. I know you said you don't like mudflaps but they look cool. Hell of a lot cheaper than new tires too. As for your actual question, no idea bro. Somebody will know though.

I use a lot of gravel roads where I'm at, and never noticed any rock chips on the paint from forward driving. Rock chips from other vehicles - yes, but that is just my luck. Our running boards keep most of them under control.

I've got a few small dings on the bottom of my door, but it's nothing serious. I agree with getting mud flaps. It's a much easier solution. Some of them don't look to bad either.

if i had the dollars i would trash these tires, i think they are garbage right now!! thank god for a good dealer and BFG support. I have ripped full blocks of tread off in as little as 40 miles!

You will chip other vehicles more than your own, plus the BFG's will wear down fairly quick and that reduces the rock throwing a lot.
