I have a '10 with about 40k on it and mine has done it a few times, I know exactly what your talking about. It happens very rarely so I don't really worry bout it

Yep, it doesn't happen very often.

For one, it seems like the programming for the shifts seems very delayed, and I think ford designed it that way to save the drivetrain from the torque. And because of that, with the hard on then off with the throttle between shifts, at the higher rpms, it has problems possibly engaging between gears temporarily.

Wonder if its a raptor thing or f150 thing.

I wonder if it would do it without the 'traction control' or other 'nanny' systems On.

So, turn Off the 'nannies' & see if it still happens.

I also don't think I can stand to take it in to the stealership. They are horrific for diagnosing, even the most obvious things. They would have to see it happen too.

We had a similar issue with one of our trucks. Like it couldn't find the right gear on decel. Speedo was fluctuating. At one point shifted from 6th to 1st at 70mph. It was a faulty transmission sensor. Covered under warranty.

Thanks man! That's what I was looking for. Think mine was probably hitting 1st temporarily. Jeebus.

How did you go about getting dealer to diagnose and replace? Would that come up on diagnostics?
