This truck is badass!!!

Today I got a chance to run on a construction road that was just put in because they are replacing a long run of those gigantic high tension poles with new ones. Nobody around with the holiday. I can't believe what a totally different class this suspension is in compared to anything I've driven, or ridden in, off road before. Stuff that would have really jammed my Silverado and probably made me hit my head on the roof, you don't even notice. It just glides over like nothing is there. Reminds me of the old days racing dirt bikes when we went from 5-6" of travel to 13". I also was surprised how there is almost no side to side pitch or head toss. I always thought everything did that running off road, apparently not! I'm still taking it somewhat easy with the engine since it's not even fully broken in yet, but damn it's nice!

Now I have to get more seat time and play with the modes. I just ran in "Normal" today, some time in 2WD, some times in 4A, and 4HI and it was awesome. I'll have to sneak back when I can and try out the other modes. It's really tough to find stuff like this around here.

I'm feeling kinda similar to "Oldfart".... although my last truck was a Gen1 2012 Raptor and I loved the truck...it was a beast, I do indeed notice a distinct difference in suspension. Far more comfortable ride in this Gen2 than the Gen1 on rough roads. One issue I do have however is the choppiness I get when driving over washboard bumps. The ass end of the truck struggles to stay grounded and I find that I am not liking that part of the offroading experience. I spend a lot of time in the Northern Maine wilderness, particularly on logging roads and off the beaten track trails and find that other than the washboard bumps, this truck is awesome!! I've installed the Eibach pro lift kit in the front and now am considering the Icons for the back. My reasons are twofold..... I do find that the truck sits a touch "nose high" now, and the concern of that washboarding effect. Anyone have any experience with washboard bumps and Icon rears?? Do the Icons help smooth out the washboard bounce??

AMEN!!! I am loving mine. I was just getting comfortable in the dirt with my Gen1. I could strap that truck on like a back pack and go anywhere. Now I have to learn the Gen2. My only regret.. Had I known how much more badass this truck was than my old one, I'd have gotten it sooner.

I just about have the 2020 broke in. I'll be out in the dirt soon.

I guess I did it wrong, I headed right for the dirt with mine. A little more variety than tootling around town or rolling down the highway with the cruise on. Seemed like a good thing.

I live in MA & when I do go offroading its on similar terrain as you describe (sometimes in ME - was supposed to be going camping around Acadia end of June but camp closed due to covid FML) - I also notice the rear getting skittish on pavement in similar fashion & seems to be the #1 consensus "weak point" of an otherwise extremely capable platform. I also have the Eibach leveling springs, however I held off on installing because I KNEW it'd sit the way yours does & I'm an OCD nut & one of my biggest pet peeves is either the droopy/wide slammed looking front stance some factory trucks have despite being 4x4 - like "over-raked" in the rear (last gen GM trucks for instance) OR the slightly nose-high stance equally. I am going w/ deaver +3 HD's after alot of research & my understanding is that they will cure alot of that skittish wheel hop/axle wrap behavior. Only reason I haven't pulled trigger on em & had em installed is I've been putting more of my money/effort/time on modding my toy/hobby car since its the summer.

FWIW I went w/ the Deaver +3 HD's because I wanted the benefit of the reduced wheel hope, which I understand any Deaver or Icon leaf setup will alleviate, but I wanted to maintain the factory rake while loaded up and/or towing something in the 5k or less range. I also keep about 150 lbs in the bed permanently between storage box/gear/tonneau

Only suggestion I'd make is make sure you're set on keeping the truck longer term as the cost to do this "lift" properly on a Raptor aint cheap - you got the front springs, the icon/deaver leafs are like $1500 or so + you need to do something in place of factory block/bump stop which can add anywhere from like $300-$2000 depending what you go with.

Same here. Took my ‘19 Raptor out just beyond Reno, Nv around Moon Rocks and everything was great, except the washboard road leading in. My rear end kept sliding and hopping out and I wasn’t even going fast.
