Things to look out for! GEN1

Hello Everyone,

I am new to the forum and looking to purchase a low mile Gen 1 SCREW in the near future. I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge about any known issues to look for when buying a used Gen1. rattles, wear and tear spots, tranny/engine problems etc....

Also how can you tell if it is a fully optioned truck. The truck I am looking at is a 2014 SCREW but the owner doesn’t sound like he knows what package the truck came with.

I appreciate everyone’s feedback on this as I am excited to join the community of raptor owners!

if it has nav and a moonroof, it will have everything except the graphics. the 801a package was the package with the most options. you could not get a moonroof without the 801a so if it has one, you got all the options.

as far as things to look for, check the skid plate for dents. check the rear frame at the bump stops. check the gap between the bed. theres more, but im half asleep.....

Bought my 2014 Shelby SCAB last year with 50K on it...little over 60K now and "0" problems...I bought mine 1200 miles from me and never drove it,just photos and an honest seller....BUT did have owner bring to an Independent Shop that I found on internet that was close by for a PPI inspection...best $100 I ever spent...they called,gave it a 99.5 out of 100 and it was on transporter the next week.
So even if you find one close by and can look it over (you can tell pretty good if it was abused or owner babied it like mine),I'd still bring for a PPI...they plug it in and can tell if any codes were ever thrown,what was repaired and/or what it will need....These babies are expensive to fix,so take your time...still alot of Gen1's out there that were used but not abused...
