Took delivery of my ‘22 AMB late last month and was fairly clean outside a few QC misses for my inspection:
Loose black and yellow tape throughout the interior, undercarriage and engine bay from assembly.
Front shocks still covered in assembly plastic and partially hanging ~a foot on each side.
Hardened/dry glue or adhesive on driver upper and passenger upper inside windshield. 2-3 inch drips from outside>center; potentially excess adhesive for windshield during build?
My driver seat cover was unclipped with loose stitching. Few minutes work to redo the stitching and re-clip. Good as new.
I really love AMB but the paint has a number of imperfections (2-3 short hairs or dust dried in the paint across the body, lighter splotches across hood , clear coat imperfections, etc.). Based on the build timeline I’m guessing it spent weeks in outdoor winter storage. All my vehicles get a lot of off-road miles so minor imperfections will be all but invisible soon comparatively, but it’s maybe a C+ paint job.
All fuses were seated enough to make contact, but none were fully seated.
Notes from the past few weeks post delivery:
No obviously loose fasteners throughout the interior, engine bay or undercarriage.
No “clunk”.
During break in I’ve had 3 instances of undesirably harsh downshifts at lower speeds (each instance was at speeds -25mph and during the first 400 miles, now at 900 mellow break in miles I have not seen it since). I chalked this up to adaptive transmission tables learning during break in.
On one occasion my entire infotainment power cycled while I driving. It was a 10-12 second reboot to black screen/cut music>ford performance splash page>back to CarPlay and my previous jams. Chalking this up to a SW crash/computer things.
