Maybe a little. The reason I know the turn down its self creates drone is when I would drive on snow covered roads there was almost no drone because the exhaust wasn't able to blow off the pavement and reverberate under the truck. So in other words, I'd be inclined to think turning the tip sideways will do something for the drone.
