The truck owner. You think he would be dissuaded by anyone telling him not to buy that shit? He'd move right along to the guy that would sell it to him.

Maybe. Before I bought my truck, and learned many things from this site, I never would have know that big wheels, lifts, etc were actually going to screw up the truck, regardless of the fact you see this on supposed off road trucks every day. I actually would thank a shop that kept me from doing something stupid, and then looked to give them more of my business now and in the future. If they let me do something stupid, then I'd be done with them.

I'm not saying the shop needs to refuse to do the work, I just want them, as the experts, to steer me in the right direction.

well... no. It’s grab from a go pro video. I hung a video in my truck week 1, after some brain dead moron woman popped into the left lane from a dead stop. I managed to stop less than a foot from her.

The video had some rather colorful language and I was concerned it may offend some of the ... enlightened sensibilities of some of the FRF membership.

I am firmly in the camp of cell phones and driving should be mutually exclusive activities.

But yeah, it was a horrifying sight and I was compelled to share.

Horrifying you say? Was the mutilation even more horrid in live view? I can see how an experience like this can be traumatizing to a Raptor faithful :(

Can someone please explain to me what the issue is with larger wheels? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not contesting what you are saying but rather I want to see your view point. I can understand no one should ruin an awesome beast like the Raptor with extra wide low wheels and tires. When I bought my 18 SCREW Leadfoot beast it already had larger wheels on it. I haven’t had any issues nor have I been told that there are issues imminent. Granted, they aren’t excessive by any means but they are indeed larger than stock. I have gotten plenty of compliments on the way it looks from admirers as well as dealership employees, although I hate the way the wheels look. I have always been into cars since I have been able to drive. I can remember when putting huge wheels and tires on your truck would throw off the alignment. Maybe my truck was referred to compensate for the larger wheels and tires but I don’t know that for sure. But what damage are you saying can be caused from it?

Less sidewall, so when you hit something hard with your tire, there's less give, less protection, before you cut a sidewall or ding a rim, or both. The truck in the pic also has tires that stick way out past the fenders. Whether it looks cool or not is a matter of taste, but if his suspension goes anywhere near full travel, he's got body damage out the ying yang. He wasted a lot of money on a capable truck when he could have spent far less and gotten the same performance and the same look. He turned a race truck into a brodozer.
