close but no cigar. A for effort though. The little bump out on the top center is what makes it.

]

Just throwing my $0.02 in the discussion on this but; one of my hangups with most of these aftermarket bumpers is nearly all of them add a few inches to the overall length of the truck. Those are inches I just don't have to spare in my garage. In my case, I've got may be six inches of clearance with the stock truck, front to rear. The Wicked bumper in that photo would work great for someone like me if it is at least as strong as the factory bumper and isn't adding unnecessary length to the truck. I'm thinking I'd like something like the one shown with a license plate covering fairleads for a winch and Rigid D2s or may be the 10" bars on either side of it.

I think that little bump on the front would still be shorter than the stock bumper though. You'd be getting rid of the plastic bummperettes on either side of the stock one.

Ok, for ***** and giggles ( because I do really like this bumper, just can't afford it right now), I emailed the company for some additional info,

HI Steve,
Glad you like the bumper!! We are working on producing it right now. The cost is $ 800.00 in black. It will bolt right up to the factory mounts once the other one is removed. That includes the aluminum skid plate and winch mounts, but does not include the light bar and mounts that were on my truck that you saw. If you would like to order it, it is a few weeks out right now. If you need a price on shipping please let me know.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions!
Thanks,
Theresa Contreras

Price isn't too bad and it is bolt on.

It's priced about right. Wicked's uses thicker tubing and he offers the skid powder coated, winch integration and custom cut outs (10% forum discount = $855)

i don't want to shit on anyone's dreams but from what i understand the welding and fit/finish on the mystery bumper was not great.

First off, I applaud Whicked for stepping up to the plate with their new bumper and trying to accommodate everyone's wants with it. Really I don't feel I have a dog in this fight since it'll be a few before I can even buy any bumper. But being the Raptor nut I am, I still keep the pimp hand firm on all the new products around, and figured I would share the email since the thread was originally for this bumper.

Whicked's new one is 1050.xx with the bump-out bar, 10% off is still 150ish more. I know it's still a work in progress, but honestly, so far I'm not diggin their design. The vertical tubes that tie everything together ruin it for me. I'm not sure what the tubing specs are for L&G's bumper, are they posted somewhere?? Also, this truck is THE whipple truck that wrapped up the blower install weeks before sema. Its possible fit and finish sucked because the truck was in such a rush with little time before sema to get the paint, graphics, rock sliders, bumpers etc done. At this point, I'm not sure its fair to pass judgment on the L&G bumper.

the mystery bumper is 1 3/4" top and 1 1/2" bottom. Wicked's is 2", 1 3/4". not trying to push you one way or another...just sharing info as we sometimes do here. if i'm sending a truck to SEMA i'm gonna make sure it's perfect. i'd let someone else be the guinea pig.

Ok I thought when you said thicker you were reffering to wall thickness not diameter. I see the diameter difference but would be more concered with wall thickness since diameter size is mostly determined for looks in this case. I would agree they should have sent thier best work to sema but you know that doesn't always happen with any manufacture. Just like Ford didnt send the best of the best raptors to sema back in 08. They were mostly all stripped down pre production trucks, some with items never seen on production trucks like one piece back glass. Or look at the fit and finish of a concept piece. Untill it goes production I don't think its fair to judge it.

Ford has a little more clout and credibility when it comes to using this analogy, but i get it. again, just sharing information as it was told to me by a couple people at the show. you should also know that the Wicked bumper was never meant to perfectly mimic the mystery bumper.

the design idea is something Tim and i discussed over the summer, and the overwhelming response about the "mystery bumper" which surprisingly looked alot like what we talked about sort of relit the pilot for the design.

Key here is that everyone will order, or not order, what they most like.

I appreciate that someone reached out to the original manufacturers since I was curious. I also can definitely see how they may have rushed that bumper to SEMA.. not ideal but hey, stuff happens.

For me, I seriously dig both bumpers and am psyched to see the next version of it with some of the suggested changes incorporated.

I think they're both amazing looking, understated simple designs that really appeal to my sense of less is more.
